Currents and bones

I’ve found that unlearning the survival mode we inherited, and re learning how to inhabit our bodies softly, means to redefine our relationship to “resilience”.

What if resilience doesn’t mean constant readiness to withstand the storm.

What if resilience is being so fluid, and in such deep harmony, that we learn to ride the waves when the storm sets in. What if we are so full and nourished by the sweetness of life, that when the storm carries us out to sea our bones are thick and our muscles are solid enough to swim against the current. What if resilience is our tribe of beloveds saying “I’ve got you” when the tide pulls us under.

What if the more we’re in relationship with ourselves with tender devotion, the more resilient we become. What if softness is the only way to truly survive.
